Tenant Services: FREE

OnTrack WNC’s Tenant Services offer information, financial counseling, and education classes to individuals who have a goal to get into stable, affordable rental housing, or a goal to stabilize their current rental situation.  The program's focus is long-term sustainability, not emergency assistance.  Our services include:

  • Financial Counseling with an emphasis on budgeting to pay the rent.
  • Rental Education classes, which cover how to conduct a rental search and how to establish and maintain a mutually beneficial, professional relationship with the landlord.  Click here for our class schedule.

The HomeBase Program combines all these services in one program.  Individuals who meet income requirements and complete all the program requirements are eligible for security deposit assistance.  It takes an average of 3 months to complete this program.

Our Buncombe County Rental Guide & Property Supplement provide information about affordability, landlord/tenant law, property listings, and more. Hard copies are available at our office or a Buncombe County library.
